Importance of preserving biodiversity

  There are many practical reasons to preserve biodiversity. It saves us money and effort, protects our lives and livelihoods. It sustains farmland and agriculture, ensuring we have enough to eat. As a species that has proven capability of ruining ecosystems, we have a moral obligation not to f**k it all up. By leaving biodiversity intact, we let natural evolutionary processes continue as they should.
